I don't exactly know how to do it, but I think you can type in different characters by using a combination of different numpad numbers.

Idk, my brother did a special letter, not Korean though

Like Lykan posted, they most likely have IME support installed on their computer (look it up on google)

I used to have a program that allowed me to write in Chinese for school... I think thats what they do. There are programs that allow you to write in characters im sure...

I have a japanese laptop that I used to play gw on...and sometimes I would hit the wrong keys and start typing hiragana....still happens to me when I type out emails on that computer---very frustrating to remember HOW to turn it off....
